LATHES AND MILLING
Lathes: When it comes to lathes, our standard horizontal lathes can fit 3 metre sections up to 680mm in diameter, longer - no worries, as long as it can fit through the 120 diameter spindle bore. We also have a little one, which can fit up to one metre sections up to 420mm diameter, with a 56mm spindle bore. Or maybe you have something to put in our big vertical lathe—it fits sections 600mm high up to 1280mm in diameter, flanges, pump housings and gear box housings are some of its favourites!
Milling:
Where do I start! We have three turret mills, two with tables 1500mm X 400mm, with state-of-the-art ball screw technology for smooth finishing applications, accompanied by its little bro with a table 300mm X 1400mm. Our big universal mill has a table 2100mm X 700mm, with 1500mm of travel on the feed, we can stick two ton on this table, no worries!
Boring!: Nah we’re not—we have a Kearns O Series borer with a 920mm square table with plenty of travel, don’t be deterred by the size—we have put some pretty big jobs on this one! We have a massive number of accessories to make any job work on this machine, such as jigs for dozer EQ bar, angle plates, boring head adaptors and more
Our tooling is endless and if we don’t have it, we will make it to get the job done. We also have a line borer called the Little Ripper for jobs that are just that little bit too big for the Kearns. We don’t like taking him out on site though, sorry.
Our team can slot, groove, key, or shape any hole or diameter up to 150mm long, 500mm round or square. A simple bore and key is a piece of cake! We can shear, cut and crop plates and cleats, punch holes up to 26mm diameter, you need bigger? That’s no drama—we can drill up to 70mm in our radial arm. Bigger again? No worries our boring head can take it out to 600mm diameter.
Our rigid machine can cut thread up to 2” BSP. After that, we can do whatever thread you desire in our lathes, up to 680mm or 26 “ diameter, at whatever thread pitch you like.
